A woman from California weighing 400 pounds found out that she was actually extremely pregnant during a stomachache when she was complaining to the doctor. Within 48 hours, April Barnum delivered a healthy baby boy. The Orange County Register reported that doctors saw the baby after an X-ray and sent Barnum to the University of California-Irvine Medical Center. The baby's lungs were completely developed, the heartbeat was strong and no defects were detected. Two days later, Walter Scott Edwards III was delivered by Caesarean section, weighing in at 7 pounds and 7 ounces. Barnum and her fiancé, Walter Scott Edwards II, said they had no hopes of having any children but instead planning to spend their money adopting four dogs. Edwards said he is lucky to have relatives who have come forward bringing the necessary items for the unexpected baby. The doctors had also acknowledged that, Barnum's weight was to be blame for not realizing she was actually pregnant. Since her monthly cycle had also stopped a few years ago, due to her obesity, she may not have distinguished it.
